It was no surprise to see the results of this popular Quick Boost poll.  Only about 16% of our respondents reported that they sleep well for seven to nine hours a night.  Poor sleep is both a cause of depression and a result.

Seventy-two percent of our poll respondents said that they had trouble falling asleep, that they woke up during the night and couldn't get back to sleep or had a combination of the two.  These are very common problems as our poll results show.

When we get depressed we often have sleep issues. We either sleep too much or too little. Our sleep is usually disturbed or unsatisfactory. We long for that sweet sleep that seems to come so easily to infants. When we awaken we want to feel rested and have lots of energy.
